Floyd E. Kellam High School opened in 1962 and serves the largest geographical area of any high school in the City of Virginia Beach. This uniqueness is also seen in the diverse student population of Kellam High School. Our current total population is 1,809 students. Spirit, pride and tradition runs deep through "Knight Country" with many generations of families, fans, community supporters and alumni. "Once a Knight, always a Knight" describes the attitude of many who have passed through the halls, played on the field, performed on the stage or soared academically. The Blue Ribbon Fine Arts department and athletic programs are among the best in the state. Winning multiple championships in girl's volleyball, gymnastics, softball, soccer and boy's golf is a great source of pride. Outside of school many students take advantage of the world's longest pleasure beach at the Oceanfront, the locals only surfing spot in Sandbridge or having fun on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Team Kellam 2011 definitely has Hurley fever and the passion to walk the Cali Catwalk. Our team is determined, excited and ready to take on the challenge. We represent a strong sense of lasting friendships, belonging and positivity. Seeing is believing. Kellam CAN walk the walk.
