An HBHS exhibit at The Ecology Center
Four weeks before the end of the school year, visual arts teacher Matt Harward agreed to co-formulate a final project with his advanced art students around the theme of “water”. With a natural concern for and interest in environmental awareness, HBHS artists began with open dialogue on the myriad water-related global issues affecting all our lives.
What followed are the pen and ink with watercolor art works on display. The emotional/intellectual/visceral energy that fueled student’s work, at its best, evokes contemplation: Raising awareness in oneself leads to raising awareness in one’s family….leads to raising awareness in community, nation, and ultimately, to a heightened global consciousness that, under the circumstances, begs attention.
*Many thanks and great appreciation goes out to Evan Marks and The Ecology Center for graciously hosting this event!
