Four days trip to Guadalajara for the Chou Room Tradeshow with Toy Machine/ Dekline Team.
Last week, the whole Toy Machine/ Dekline Team went to Guadalajara for a skate demo and street skating.
About a month ago, I got an email about going to Mexico with the Toy Machine/Dekline team, which were Matt Bennett, Austin Stevens and myself for a skate demo at the Chou Room (Mexican Tradeshow) and the chance do stay for a couple extra days and do some street skating. The whole thing sounded great. I had never been to Mexico, so I was really excited about it.
We flew from LAX straight to Guadalajara. After getting off the airplane, we had to get on some weird “Elevator Bus” to get to the terminal.
Our Driver Charlie picked us up, and drove us to the hotel. He was a great tour guide, explaining me a bunch of really interesting facts about Guadalajara.
After checking in, we went straight to a party at the Chou Room. I have to say that the girls in Guadalajara are beautiful, as Charlie explained to me on our way to the hotel.
Next day was the Demo. We basically hang out at the event until it was time for the demo. They had some artwork set up and some really nice food. The demo went great. That same night we had another party at the same place and we saw some more really good-looking ladies.
Saturday came and it was time for some street skating. We skated some really good spots, shot some photos and got some clips. That night we got invited to eat some traditional Guadalajarian dinner, the “Carne en su salsa”. Really tasty beef cooked in its own juice. Drank the “Flag” shots and hung out with some local skaters at the Pulp bar. Beer was amazingly cheap. Less than buck a piece. On our way back to the hotel, we got soaked by a gnarly summer rain.
The next day I woke up and I had to dry all my stuff with the hair drier since we only brought a few things for the weekend. Keeping it simple it’s much better when you travel. I hate bringing a bunch of unnecessary crap.
Our last day was really fun. We did some tourist stuff in the morning, walking thru the old part of town and we visited museums, the big market, and we even experienced the local metro.
After Lunch we did some more street skating, got more photos and footage, and headed straight to the airport. On our way to the airport we did one more stop to try the famous “Tortas ahogadas”(soaked Sandwich), a meat sandwich, soaked in spicy tomato sauce. Delicious.
Made it back home safely with one more city on my list.
Thanks so much to everyone in Mexico for treating us well.
If any of you have a chance to go to Guadalajara, don’t even doubt it, you wont regret it.
Hasta Pronto,
Diego

The best moments from our week in the Lone Star State. ALL PHOTOS BY ZOO BAMBOO ENT.
It was a long, fun road. Bob Burnquist, Dyson Ramones, Diego Bucchieri and Andre Genovesi all put in a good run in the second-largest US state. (Alaska's first if you're wondering what could possibly be bigger than Texas). The Hurley "Don't Mess With Texas" Skate Tour was a huge success, and as our final chapter, we offer this photo gallery taken by Zoo Bamboo Entertainment. Enjoy the images and to all our Texas friends, happy rails.
