Virginia Is For Shred Stick
The swell outlook seemed bleak for the Virginia Beach RMSS event. SURFLINE.COM was correct in their "No Surf" reporting for the Sunday evening prior to Monday's event. The large HURLEY RV was parked front and center at 1st street with the window's wide open creating a perfect view of the ripple ridden surf in the calm Atlantic ocean.
Aamion Goodwin, Timmy Curran, Noah Snyder, Saxon Boucher and the entire Shred Stick staff were crossing their fingers that somehow we'd get waves in the morning...and sure enough we all woke to fun waist high surf.
The set up at 1st Street is really cool. A long jetty and wide sandy beach create a really fun wave...especially when there's a swell running.
The pro's spent nearly the entire day in the water pushing the young competitors into wave after wave. A great day was had by all. Results are as follows:
1st - Michael Agnew
2nd - Cam Fullmer
3rd - Brett Vass
4th - Allison Parks
5th - Matt Aycud
6th - Mark Anderson
