Open to all legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are 13 years or older as of February 1, 2009 except as provided in paragraph 6 below.

Microphone for Youth runs many contests and they all have different start and end dates. Check the terms and conditions of each contest for details on timeframe. To enter: Log on to www.microphoneforyouth.com and upload your graphic (the "Submission"). Content guidelines and restrictions - the Submission must NOT contain:

• Lewd or vulgar language.
• Language that is hateful, defamatory, slanderous or libelous.
• Language that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, age or any other basis protected by Federal, State, or Local Law, Ordinance, or Regulation.
• Language that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state where the Submission is created.
• Material that violates or infringes another's rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights.
• Material that is copyrighted, trademarked, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material.
• Failure of any Submission to comply with the above restrictions (collectively, the "Content Restrictions"), as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will result in disqualification.

Entries will only be accepted online and must be received by 11:59 pm PST during the contest time period. Limit one Submission per person, per week . Multiple entries submitted weekly by a single entrant are void. Misdirected, lost, late, inaccurate, incomplete, mutilated or illegible entries are not the responsibility of Sponsor, and are void. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible. Participants who disregard these Official Rules may be declared ineligible. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will neither be returned nor acknowledged.

AUTHORIZATION TO USE MATERIALS/INFORMATION. Whether chosen as a winner or not I acknowledge that upon uploading my Submission I grant to Hurley International LLC, and their affiliates, their successors, assigns and licensees ("Hurley") the unlimited and exclusive permission and assignment to distribute, publish, commercialize, exhibit, digitize, broadcast, display, modify, edit, and otherwise use the Submission, as well as my name, image and or any other matter incorporated into or associated with the Submission, on www.hurley.com or any other Hurley or associated Hurley website ("Website") or in any other manner, or on any product or media anywhere in the world in perpetuity without any expectation of compensation for any purpose including advertising, promoting or publicizing the Website, Hurley, and Hurley's products and services. If Hurley does use any entry that was not voted as the winner of the entered contest Hurley will pay the creator of the work a one time payment of $500 USD.

I shall have no rights of approval and no claim (including, without limitation, claims based upon copyright, trademark, invasion of privacy, defamation, and right of publicity) arising out of any use, blurring, alteration, distortion, illusionary effect, or any use in any composite form of the Submission and the names, images, voices or any other matter incorporated in or associated with the Submission. I acknowledge that I waive all "moral" rights that I may have in and to Submission. Hurley shall have no obligation to use any of the rights I grant. I represent that it is not necessary for Hurley to pay any fees or any third party in connection with my granting of these rights to Hurley.
