Walk the Walk's fourth finalist is decided: Eastern Bracket winner Toms River
Toms River East came out of the gates at full speed and never looked back. Even when Kellam High from Virginia Beach regrouped and mounted a comeback in Challenge No. 2, Jersey just kept coming at 'em. Their videos: always full of spirit and mass participation. Their networking: a lesson in empire-building, as they rallied to get a handful of surrounding districts to join their cause. The result: the highest point total (34,104) of the entire Walk the Walk competition.
The amazing thing is, Walk the Walk is only one of Toms Rivers' many extracurricular activities. They recently just finished a Talent Expo and the prestigious Mr. Toms River East competition. (Fortunately, no one from "The Jersey Shore" won.) They've also been deep in the environmental awareness front, organizing a "Green Week" and a designated "Green Day."
Sometimes, the busier you are, the better you get. And that's what it's looking like with Toms River East.
Congratulations to our newest Walk the Walk National Championships finalist, and a job well done to all the Eastern Bracket schools that participated.
Next up: our Wildcard challenge (determining the fifth finalist for the Walk the Walk National Championship at the US Open of Surfing.) The voting begins on May 12, so be sure to go to www.hurley.com/wtw to see the new submissions.
