Kelly Slater has won his fifth Hurley Pro at Trestles title, defeating Owen Wright in a hard-fought Final that saw the iconic Floridian overtake the young Australian in a last-minute exchange with a final score of 17.50 to 16.74.

Today will decide the 2011 Hurley Pro champion.

The current south swell will continue Wednesday, easing slowly through the day. Smaller and less consistent surf will prevail for the last couple days of the contest waiting period.

The third consecutive day of action saw the world’s best surfers put in stellar performances in improved conditions as the frontrunners on the ASP Top 34 proved lethal in their battle for this year’s heated ASP World Title race.

Small south swell will fill in a bit more on Tuesday and continue Wednesday. A slightly smaller mix of southwest and south-southwest swells will close out the last couple days of the contest waiting period.
