There's something sinister lurking behind Rosie's spunky attitude and charming smile. And that something is a freakishly good Halloween playlist. We called upon the ghoul with the best iTunes library we know of and had her pick out her favorite creepy melodies (but knowing Rosie, these are songs she listens to all year long). Because for some, Halloween isn't just a holiday, it's a lifestyle. So meet us at the cemetry gates (with The Smiths) and we'll bark at the moon (with Ozzy Osbourne), because this is a Dead Man's Party (just like Oingo Boingo said it would be). Yes, it's Halloween (which more than a few of the songs on here are named), so get in the spirit with Rosie's Playlist. Awoooooo!
Hurley Rocks You Back To School finished off the tour with an epic finale at the Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. Apparently everyone in the OC really likes to party. Maybe there is just a huge Surfer Blood fan base in this area - either way, 800 fans came out and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Honey Badgers and Hindu Pirates for making the night that much better.
Hurley Rocks You Back to School is coming to a close this weekend, and we're getting a little nostalgic. Here's a look back at our second stop of the tour in Norfolk, VA, where Mike and Rosie get a little crazy (look out for Rosie's dance moves and Mike's body slam into a wall). We have one last show in Orange County, so if you missed out on the other stops, make sure you come see us this Saturday.
You know Rosie, she doesn't do stuff like normal people. Her way is always a little different, and always a good time. This is what she had to say about her recent trip to New York: "We took a trip to NYC last week. Nofx show. Wedding. Yummy vegan food. Friends. Adventure to Roosevelt island via ferry and gondola. Abandoned smallpox hospital. Great weather. Great time. I love NY." Click through for more photos.
Rosie just emailed us this photo. The subject was "cashew cheese" and the caption said "made by me!" Confused? So were we. But if you google "cashew cheese" you'll come to find that it's simply a vegan alternative to cheese spread. OK, now we're hungry! Want to try your hand at being a vegan culinary wizard like Rosie? Try this recipe.
This is Rosie. Go on a walk with her (it's cool, trust us).
Our girl Rosie has been putting in some major time at the beach lately...though we won't disclose the exact location. Seriously, don't even ask us, we'll never tell. Okay, okay, it's Malibu. But if anyone asks, it wasn't us who told you. Click through and have some fun looking through all of Rosie's beach adventures -- key words: bubbles, bikinis, surf, and sandcastles.
Part Two of Rosie's road trip with Alkaline Trio. Read up... Said Rosie: "Then it was off to Bamboozle. The crowd was amazing and the band played their set as the sun went down. So many friends from all over. Good times. We even got to ride the Zipper! So long Baltimore, MD. Thanks for the memories."
Our girl, Rosie, was recently on the road with her bf's band Alkaline Trio, and sent over a handful of photos with a quick recap of the trip. Said Rosie: "Alkaline Trio played a couple East Coast shows (including Bamboozle in Jersey) a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to get to tag along. The first show was at The Note in Westchester, PA. Which is where Mr. Bam Margera happens to live. Every time we come to Westchester, Bam is so accommodating and we have the best time. This was no exception. The show was great and we had so much fun." Photos and captions: Rosie
"I was lucky enough to get a special invite to the Brandon Boyd and H.O.P.E. collaboration art show in venice. Really good to see so many people make it out for such a great art show and good cause. Brandons art is beautiful. I had never seen his work before and the detail is really what blew me away. I also had the pleasure of meeting him before we left. What a nice guy!" - .rosie.olaskey.
