Let's take a little three-minute vacation from the work day. While the summer is over for most of us and it's back to the grind of school and work, Ace is off getting barreled and enjoying an Indian Summer in the south of France. Avoid the negative side effects of intense jealousy by living vicariously through his video here. …Oh and by the way, yes, his videos are always this cool. You can see more on his blog, dontfearmegypsy.com.

Hurley's Mitch Ross checks in from the ASP 6 Star Surfest event at Newcastle, Australia: Last night in conjunction with the Surfest event there was a big old fashioned surfer signing at one of Newcastle's best surf stores, Sandbah. The store is owned by former pro surfer, Rhys Smith, who played host to some of the biggest names in the game including Hurley team riders, Ace Buchan, Evan G and Mitch Crews. Our guys hung in the store with Taj, Parko and some other big names, signing hundreds of autographs for heaps of stoked-out groms.

So far at the Surfest event, Ace, Evan and Mitch have all advanced through to the Round of 16 — where Quarterfinal spots and big points are up for grabs. Tune in here to watch the action later today.

It's the first event of the year and Ace Buchan is off to a flyer of a start on the Gold Coast at the Quiksilver Pro. He has been the standout goofy foot of the event, taking down some of the biggest names including John John Florence and fellow Hurley team rider, Miguel Pupo, during an unfortunate heat draw in Round 5. The event is currently on hold, but rumors have been swirling of a possible start as soon as tomorrow (early afternoon, today, for PST) as a fresh south swell starts to move up the coast. Ace is matched up against one of the event favorites in Taj Burrow — should be a great heat. Make sure to tune in here later today. Go, Ace!

Ace Buchan and friends found some fun little tubes during a beach day in Oz last week (which was less about the beach and more about getting tubed). It's not every day you can get barreled with no one else in sight -- which sucks if you enjoy a good claim every now and again, but is amazing if you dig the solitude of surfing alone. Give the session a watch over at Ace's blog, dontfearmegypsy.com.

'Don't Fear Me Gypsy'. How's that for a blog name? We're pretty stoked on it, and so is Ace Buchan, the mastermind the whole thing. The new blog gives you a look into the life, travels and creative work of the Australian professional surfer, who's been a mainstay in the ASP's top ten rankings for years now. But enough of us telling you how awesome the blog is, head over to Don't Fear Me Gypsy for some new videos and creative words from one of our favorite Aussies.
