Fresh from surfing the Eisbach River in Munich, the European RMSS Tour with Rob Machado made its third stop at Fistral Beach in Newquay, UK. The weekend kicked off with a fun Melali Cinema night complete with a hilarious and insightful Q&A with Rob. Then the contest got going the next morning. Saturday morning dawned with fun waves and 65 frenzied kids ready for loads of shakas and high fives. Rob Machado, “Punker” Pat Towersey and Hurley UK ripper Josh Piper helped everyone from beginners to shredders bag some great waves. The local crew was extremely stoked to have such an up close and personal experience with Rob.

All on hand went home with a pack of gear from Hurley, Dragon, Stance and Carve magazine, and Oliver Treacher was the lucky raffle winner of a Go Pro camera. The day was completed with a great slide show by PK at NorthShore Surf Shop. Big thanks to the local surf community for coming out in force and showing Rob a great reception and sending him off to Bali with a big smile. Yeah, Newquay!
