Stop two of Hurley’s European Rip My Shred Stick Tour headed south from France, landing in Zarautz, Spain, where local groms were treated to a fun surf event and day with their surfing heroes. Read on for the full story and click here for all the day’s photos. Photos: PK

Kids 16 and under from the picturesque Basque town of Zarautz came down to the beach in force to surf and hang out with the likes of former World #2 Rob Machado, “Punker” Pat Towersey, Allen Johnson and surfer/funnyman Peter ‘PK’ King.

Free prizes, Hurley gear and a GoPro camera raffle made for a great time for the local Basque groms as they enjoyed surfing Rob’s own boards and listening to an impromptu set from his eclectic iPod. The day culminated with a poster signing and slide show session at the Pukas Store. Also on hand were lucky winners of Seidl Boardshop raffle, Lukas and Alex Maier, who won a Hurley trip to the event from Austria. Top Shredders were Iker Amatriain –under 16, Adur Amatriain – under 10 and Girls winner Anrea Cardona.
