There's nothing like a summer vacay. But sometimes you're not the one who's taking the vacation, but rather the one who's hosting the foreign visitor! Such was the case for resident long boarding ballerina (literally, she longbaords and does ballet), Rachael Tilly. We'll let Rachael do the talking and tell you a little bit about her German BFF, spoiler alert: she rides horses standing up and does tricks on them! How? We're not sure but it sounds like something we want to know more about. Click through to hear about part of Rachael's summer, straight from the horse's mouth, as they say.

I have this friend named Eva-Lotta visting all the way from Germany! She is 14 just like me and super fun and funny. How did I meet a girl from Germany you might ask? Well, her grandfather and my grandfather went to elementray school together in Germany and they have kept in touch all these years! Isn’t that cool?!

Eva’s older sister came out to visit a few years ago and now that Eva is old enough she came out here to explore America! It’s been such a blast having her around. She does the craziest sport — I don’t even know how it is possible! She stands on horses and does tricks on them while they are trotting around! I know if I tried to stand on a horse it would not be a pretty sight!

She is also one of the most efficent girls I know. She has come down to the past couple contests of mine and she helps me with my wetsuits, jerseys, and keeping myself organized. I’m so glad she is here with us and maybe one day I can go visit her in Germany and she can be the one showing me around and teaching me to stand on horses! Sadly she has to go home on Wednesday, but hopefully it isn't too long before I get to see her again!
