Sometimes it's hard to imagine what goes into creating art when we're busy being wowed by the final product. Well an Indonesian filmmaker decided he wanted to show more. The Dreamer is a movie centered around the process of making art – the trials, tribulations, inspiration and construction from start to finish. Inspired by the youthful art culture that is emerging in Indonesia, he chose to follow Uji Handako. Uji, also known as Hahan, is a young emerging artist and a singer in multiple bands with a distinctive Andy Warhol-esque fashion style. We'd say he's pretty much a modern day Indonesian renaissance man. Take a look at trailer one and two of The Dreamer to see Uji and his journey to create an experimental art piece for Bazaar Art Jakarta, the biggest art fair in Indonesia.
