In between surfing, ballet, viola lessons and being an all-around ray of sunshine, Rachael Tilly enjoys spending time with kids from the Children's Hospital of Orange County teaching them the joys of surfing! Last week, Rachael and about 20 kids hit the water for stand up paddling, games and paddling an outrigger canoe. Keep reading for more photos and to hear about the day from Rachael herself.

Twenty-one kids came down from CHOC hospital and we had outriggers, SUP boards, games, and a trip to the Ocean Institute all set up and ready for them. We also had a blank board that the kids drew anything the wanted on it with Tyler Warren.

The kids were full of energy and super fun to be with! It's amazing to think about all the things they go through and they were all around my age or younger! One boy even had chemo before he came to the beach and then right when he got back he had to go straight back into chemotherapy! You would never know it, though, because they all had huge smiles and loved being in the water and playing at the beach! It was a great experience and I can't wait to do it again in August!
