We're really bad friends... Mitch Ross (btw, one of the coolest dudes we know) sent us this blog on Friday. We know, we know. It's Monday. No excuses (but if we were gonna go that route, we'd blame, ummm, the time difference?). Anyways, give it a read. Mitchy will be on the road with the guys on tour for the duration of the 2011/12 campaign. Check back for timely updates (this was our one mulligan -- our bad) and hopefully some ultra-juicy-backstage-TMZ-type gossip (fingers crossed). N joy.

"Right now I'm in town with the Hurley team for the French leg of the World Tour… As you would know the surfers are Brett, Ace and the newcomer Miguel Pupo… I've had the pleasure of staying with the Brazilian duo -- Big Pupo and little Pupo -- Miguel and his father Wagner. The journey so far has been a good one -- I mean it's hard to have a tough time in a place like Hossegor. The waves have been super consistant with even more swell predicted in the coming days… Ace won his first round, Brett and Miguel both have to dart through the dreaded 2nd round, but I've got faith and plenty of it. Strange fact about the trip so far though, my favorite surfer thus far isn't one of the three… Its actually a 13-year-old by the name of Jake Marshall who, as you should know, is one of the best grommets the US has ever seen. The other day, in his first heat in the 'King of the Groms', Jake pulled the other competitors pants down... i mean he comboed the surfer who got second who was no slouch in Jack Robinson.

The contest looks as though it will resume tomorrow in 8 foot off shore conditions, i aint lying.. Thats what it looks like the surf gods of got coming this week, great waves and lots of them…

Enjoy the event and make sure you watch all the live action here

Go Boys!" -- MR
