19-stop surf contest/beach day allows for more fun at more beaches
Hurley’s world-famous Rip My Shred Stick Tour is gearing up for another go-around. The 18-stop tour, starting in Puerto Rico on June 11 and wrapping up in Oceanside on July 16, will reach hundreds of young surfers in a span of more than 10,000 miles. Rip My Shred Stick allows kids 16 and under to hang out with the Hurley team, test-drive their boards and compete in a no-pressure, all-fun surf event. “We’ve had so much fun with the Rip My Shred Stick tour,” says Hurley’s VP of Sports Marketing Pat O’Connell, “that we expanded it this year. We’re going to Texas. We’re going to the Great Lakes. We can’t wait to spread the good times to some new zones.”
Along with a surf contest, participants will be treated to a post-event slideshow and party, prizes and giveaways. The Phantom Truck will also be parked at each event. For each Phantom bought at our participating retailers, you’ll receive a free Supersuede Hurley boardshort customizable at the Phantom Truck. “There’s nothing like owning a unique pair of Phantoms,” says Hurley Retail Marketing Specialist Zach “Hula” Hartley. “The Phantom Truck makes that possible for everyone.”
All entries to the Rip My Shred Stick events will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Events are free of charge.
