250 grommets battle it out at Blast Off

The 2010 BL's Blast Off is once again underway on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Growing in reputation, the event this year caters to roughly 250 super groms ages five to 14 years old. It's a four-day event rooted in fun, and gives the kids a chance to learn a thing or two about surfing.

The host of the event, Barton Lynch, is all about helping the grommets, and gets a hand from some of his buddies as well. Layne Beachley dropped in to say gday, and Hurley Team riders Mitch Crews, Dom Wills and Beau Foster are there helping out for the week as well.
