We love the Mesh Maxi Featherweight Dress! It's light, flowy and can be worn as a dress or a skirt. But the best part about it is seeing how everyone is styling it around the office. Here's what Brie from design had to say about the Mesh Maxi: "I love the options I have with this dress whether I’m wearing it as a skirt or a dress. The vest is a Hurley classic and the necklace just adds a little bit of fun. The boots, well, the boots give me the height I’m lacking ;) And I’m wearing the dress EVERYWHERE, but this specific outfit would be perfect for a rad concert, or a hot date..." Yesterday as our friend and model, Lanna Lyon, gave us a tour of her Venice Beach rental, it became obvious that she's got a lot of cool stuff (photos, taxidermy, love notes, skulls, and so on). So we asked her what she'd take with her if her house was on fire. Well first she'd grab Mama, her hairless rat. Duh. To find out what other items take up the largest chunk of her heart and memory, and for a photo of aforementioned hairless rat, keep reading.
Hey, did you guys hear about that music festival? Think it was called Coachella or something. Anyway, Lanna went and had a ball as per usual; music, friends, sunshine, pool parties — all set to that can't-put-your-finger-on-it type of beauty found only in the Coachella Valley. Check out Lanna's take on all the fun below.
We like to pretend we're tough sometimes, ya know, don't like to get wrapped up in the lovey dovey stuff. But even our luke warm aortic valves skipped a beat when we saw these pictures of Hawaiian lovebirds, Hurley team rider Evan Valiere and girlfriend Brittney Valverde. Photographer, Ja Tecson set out to capture the unique brand of relaxation found only on the North Shore. And it worked, because we're about to go search Costa Mesa for a hammock to snuggle up in. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that both Evan and Britt are two of the most gorgeous creatures ever. See the rest of the shoot here, and make sure to explore Ja's site for more great photos.
It's not hard to have fun at Coachella, but when you're Rosie, you take fun to a whole other level. She even has a tattoo that says "FUN IS FUN" — so she really knows a thing or two about having a good time. So without further adieu, here's Rosie's Coachella recap: "Oh Coachella, you never disappoint me. This year was definitely one of my favorites! Refused AND At the Drive in?! I still can't believe I got to see them. Not to mention Radiohead....The Weeknd....The Horrors....TuPac and more! So many good times smashed into a weekend! I was also lucky enough to hang with a solid group of amazing friends the whole time. Old and new. We danced so hard. We laughed so hard. We had all the fun. Until next year!" Keep reading for some more tasty images from the funnest festival ever (and yes we're saying funnest, because we may or may not still be in Coachella mode).
Did you all survive Coachella weekend one? We're still deciding if we did or not. But one thing we are sure of is that all of you in attendance were looking all kinds of cute. And after a perusal of many a Coachella street style blog, we've come to the consensus that flower crowns, my little pony hair colors, denim overalls and sexy-tomboy-by-way-of-grunge are all having a large moment on the festival scene. We can't wait to see more from weekend two! For now, keep rockin' — and keep reading for our favorite looks captured by tour friends Life Without Andy.
Coachella… it's a bit hotter out there. Temperature-wise and style-wise. In fact, the forecast calls for low 80s with a chance of really cute outfits everywhere. So that's why we put together a quick packing guide to help keep you cool while looking, well, cool. Read on for the deets and we'll see you at the Outdoor Theatre stage (Florence, Suedehead, Feist, Miike Snow, Neon Indian and more, oh my)!
COACHELLA!!! That was us typing for joy at the arrival of our favorite weekend of spring! Yep, we can feel it in our bones, it's time for the yearly migration to the desert for music and magic. And as a palette-whetter, Rosie, our longtime muse and music expert, has put together a playlist with all the tunes she can't wait to hear live. And if you're not going to make it out to Coachella, just turn your heater up, put on some facepaint and blast Rosie's playlist as loud as your neighbors will stand. Who runs LA? She does! Who is she? Well it's you if you're running in Nike's "She Runs LA" 10k this Saturday, April 14th at Paramount Studios. This year the run benefits Students Run LA, a program which helps at-risk students, finishers will receive a specially designed Hurley bracelet and best of all — this year the race is 80s-themed! So we've put together some 80s-inspired running get ups for you. And while we can give you loud neon clothes we unfortunately can't supply you with a bad perm and a rubik's cube. Sign up for She Runs LA here. Shop the above looks here, here and here.
Studs! Studs! Studs! No, we're not talking about our latest crushes, we're talking about the studs we put on our clothes, shoes, bags, and pretty much anything else studdable. We're certifiably stud-crazy right now! And that's why we decided to hand off some Hurley goods to expert studder, one of our new favorite bloggers, and burgeoning store owner, One More Chance Vintage. And what came back is so good! See below for more ideas of how to take our clothes from cute to a little edgy. And if you want to get your paws on these pieces, all items will be for sale in OMC Vintage's Etsy store tomorrow. Later, stud muffins!
