Summertime magic — it's in the air. It's roadtrips, lazy days, adventures, freedom, sunburns, ripped jeans, loud music and living in your bikini. Each summer has its own defining moments, making each summer distinctly unique. You know, like the summer when you ate a burrito practically every day, the summer you didn't have cars so you rode your bike everywhere, the one where you fell in love, the one when you slept under the stars and the one where you learned to surf. This summer, we want to document the stories of summer as they happen. We want to see the summer through your eyes. We'll be documenting the summer lives of a few of our friends — who we can't wait for you to meet! Because summer is fun, and fun deserves to be shared. Every summer has a story, what’s yours?
Oh Lanna, our strange little Lanna, just hopping into vans and driving away into a desert wonderland. Dinosaurs, feral cats and run down buildings — Lanna makes the desert look so good. Read on for photos and Lanna's take on her road trip.
Lanna's got the look. That dusty, vintage, biker darling look. In other words, she's edgy but you never lose sight of her sweet side. Keep reading to see how you can take a cue from Lanna and copy her feel-good summer vibe. Photo: Mark Choiniere
It seems like a long time ago now, but once upon a time, we went to a magical land called Dallas, Texas for a magical gathering called the Student Television Network. There we met a bunch of magical students who specialize in the magic of film — we asked them to create commercials about either the Krush n Only or the Nfinitee. And for the last few weeks we've showcased our personal favorites — but today we're showing you the video we thought was the best of the best. It's brought to you by Coppell High School and not only does it show off our favorite new tee, the Nfinitee, it's creative, imaginative and an all around fun video to watch. Congrats, Coppell and thanks for the rad homage to the Nfinitee!
Cute DIY alert! Make a button collage (we went patriotic in the spirit of this weekend but any page from a magazine or printed from the Internet will work just fine) to help spice up a pair of shorts or the back of a jean jacket. Think of it as the easier and more colorful alternative to studding. And make this Memorial Day weekend even more memorable with our playlist! Songs were handpicked by us with thoughts of beach days, backyard BBQs, road trips and early summer swells dancing in our heads. Enjoy and have a good 3-day weekend!
What would one say if they had the chance to write in Racahel Tilly's yearbook? Well, if it were us we'd skip the whole, "Have a good summer!" and "Never change!" nonsense and get straight to the point: "Teach us how to surf like you!" Because for the third year in a row Rachael has won the SSS State Championships, which if you ask us, is a very fitting way to end a middle school career. So to Rachael we say congrats! And to the high school competition we say, watch out because here comes Rachael!
It's that time of year again, the time when the only book you bring to class is your yearbook. And what a very exciting time of year it is, because it means summer is right around the corner! So in the spirit of both summer and yearbooks, we chose our favorite summer dresses and gave them Class Character shoutouts. Above you have the Willow Dress, who we voted Most Fun for the fun-to-look-at and even more fun-to-wear print, which also happens to look really cool through 3D glasses (as pictured). Read on to see the rest of our Class Characters. And on that note, cheers to the Class of 2012, now let's go have the best summer ever.
This past weekend at Trestles, Rachael Tilly won the WSA West Coast Season Championship for both Girls Longboard Under 18 and Girls Longboard Under 14. If it hasn't already, it's safe to say her trophy case will hit capacity sometime very soon. Way to go, Rachael!
Remember growing up and there was that one really cool family down the street? The one where the mom always had the good snacks: Oreos, Dunkaroos (R.I.P), fruit rollups, etc. They probably had a trampoline and you could stay up late and watch movies at their house.Well our family of Featherweights is pretty much the same thing. You've got the cool older sister who will let you wear her make up, the Mesh Maxi. Then there's the up-for-anything trouble maker, the mesh tank. Then you've got the other Featherweight tees and some flirty dresses. They're a colorful family and tons of fun. You've got to meet them, so keep reading for full introductions.
We've heard a few stories of girls crying at the mere sight of Beau Foster, which is hilarious and also makes us seriously reconsider our claim that Evan Geiselman is the Bieber of surfing. But we thought it might interest some of you (cough, cough, stalkers) to know the kinds of clothes Beau likes on his ladies. Right now he's into curly-haired girls and like always, he's still into a girl in Converse, or "Cons" as he calls them. For Beau's picks, keep reading, and go here for a semi-awkward interview Beau gave the guys at STAB Magazine on everything he knows about girls. Spoiler alert: the mind of an 18-year-old boy is a strange and interesting place.
