The 6th Annual Pacific Wave “Spring Fling” presented by Hurley (hey, that's us!) went down this past Saturday at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, CA. The morning started off a little gloomy with a low tide, but mid morning gave way to sunshine and clean conditions with waves in the 2-4 ft range. Good times in one of our favorite surf towns! It's been a long six months since Hurricane Sandy has made landfall — and the relief efforts are still going, and going strong thanks to Jon Rose and Waves for Water. Press play to relive one man's account of the storm and to see how Jon, along with locals, are rebuilding homes and lives on the east coast. One small way to help is with a purchase of one of our Hurley H2O Hurricane Sandy tees. All proceeds from these shirts go towards Jon and his relief initiative.
Fourteen year old Cody Lovaas is from Carlsbad, California and may or may not be a junior Jack Johnson. He came by our studios where he played the ukulele and guitar (which he's been practicing for 7 years). His music inspired by the beach, longboarding and influences like Jack, Donavon Frankenreiter and Jason Mraz. Check it out.
Our good friends Polar Bear Club dropped by the recording studio to track some awesome live recordings off their albums "Clash Battle Guilt Pride" and "Chasing Hamburg." The boys are currently wrapping up their US tour with Bad Religion, so you know they're having a good time! Check out their interview here and watch their live recording of "Bottled Wind" on our YouTube channel here.
The international premiere of Lakey Peterson's movie, Zero to 100, went down in Huntington Beach over the weekend. Lakey signed autographs and interviewed with TV stations, a handful of kids turned the Hindu Pirates outdoor concert into what looked like Coachella Junior (just check out the pictures), and hometown hero Brett Simpson showed up to support his up-and-coming teammate. The movie was amazing (no surprises there), and to top it all off, after the screening Lakey and director Aaron Lieber were both honored by the California State Assembly with a certificate of recognition. In sum, a good time was had by all and we're super proud of Lakey. Click 'Full Story' to see more. Photos: D. Bahn.

The 17th annual Childrens Water Festival was held at UC Irvine and aimed to educated kids about their water footprint – something we think everyone should learn about. Hurley H2O partnered with the Ecology Center and their water shed, and Evan Marks spent two days educating kids on the shed, where Southern California water comes from, and how simple changes can make a difference.
