The Volcom Damn Am skate contest took place this weekend, just down the street from Hurley in Costa Mesa. Curren Caples had an impressive ride, and with a frontside wall ride, frontside noseblunt down the the hand rail and a 180 nosegrind, he took 1st place in the overall competition. Check out the video here. Featured products: Original tee, Corman pant.
Curren Caples, Jack Fardell and Greyson Fletcher have been skating up a storm (in-between storms) all over Sydney, Australia (Jack made a point to skate barefoot. Heavy). The legendary Bondi Bowl-A-Rama was going on, and while in town the crew made sure to have as much fun as possible… see for yourself here.
Evan Mock might be too obessed with Instagram to function, but it's OK because while he's not finding his new favorite filter he's actually ripping apart the Banzai skatepark on the North Shore. So check out this edit (made by friend, Jack Germain) and then proceed to check your Instagram, it's what Evan would do...
To some it might not make sense that someone so nonsensical can make so much…sense. But there he is, Craig Stecyk III, all 6-foot and something, rambling off the longest sentences you've ever had the pleasure of hearing. It's all you can do to not pull up a chair, grab a coffee and let the man talk. If you've never had the pleasure of exchanging words with Stecyk, there's something that can help: this video from The Surfer's Journal gives a glimpse into the oddities, curiosities and snippets of history that make Craig's everyday life the most interesting piece-of-art-in-progress. He's a legend. Shop the Craig Stecyk X Hurley collection, "FIN", here.
The Australian Bowlriding Championships took place over the weekend in NSW, and the juniors proved to be a pretty major threat (just showing you that the next generation is a force to be reckoned with). Even the girls are on board; there are some amazing up-and-coming girl skateboarders who are super stoked on skating and love the lifestyle. Hurley team riders Jack Fardell and Keegan Palmer both became the Aussie champions (Keegan in the under-18 category), and Pat Ngoho took first place in the Master's division. The event was said to be one of the best days of Aussie skateboarding and one of the most memorable competitions to date. Good work, guys. Click through for more pics. Photos: Andy Green

After a two-week hiatus, Skate Night is officially back ON at the Hurley skate park, and is happening every Thursday from 4-7PM. As always, it's free, you just need to have a signed a waiver (download it here). See you there!
